5 th September 2007, under Company Act 2006. It has got FDI approval from Department of
Industry. MIT Group Holdings Nepal is a sub-company whose parent company is situated in
Australia – MIT Group Holdings Pty. Ltd. It is a FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) project from
Australia.
Shareholders of this company are Shesh Ghale and Jamuna Gurung, each holding 50% of the
shares. Shesh Ghale is the former President of NRNA (Non-Resident Nepali Association) and
also founder and CEO of Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia. He was ranked the 81st-
richest person in Australia in the 2018 BRW Rich 200.
MIT Group Holdings Nepal Pvt. Ltd. is currently building a 5 Star Hotel –Sheraton Kathmandu
Hotel of Sheraton Brand at the heart of Kathmandu city – Kantipath, Kathmandu. MIT Group
has also done management agreement with Sheraton- Singapore. Sheraton Kathmandu Hotel’s
architectural design was done by SRSS –Singapore and Structural design was done by ADG
–Australia. Estimated cost of this project is NRs.10 Billion. Sheraton Kathmandu Hotel is
targeted to open by October 2020.
